Professional biography

Mela is an occupational therapist originally trained in Germany and the Netherlands. Mela initially came to Australia to complete a Master’s degree and has worked here since its’ completion in 2006. She has worked in a variety of areas including paediatrics, neurological rehabilitation, lecturing, and community work, and has some experience in sensory integration, equipment prescription and home modifications.

Mela is a full-time OT at SPOT and is passionate about providing school and community based therapy for children and young people as well as assessment and treatment for children in rooms at SPOT for Kids. She works with children and young people with acquired brain injury, cerebral palsy and developmental delays and says she loves new challenges.
